Senator CHRIS EVANS (Leader of the Opposition in the Senate) (9:57 AM) —I indicate, then, to the minister that, in the spirit of goodwill and to give effect to his stated intention, if he were to move an amendment to reflect that in this amendment before the chamber, Labor will support it. If the minister seeks to amend it by changing the annual review to two years, we will vote for it. Let’s give some effect to the government’s stated intentions. If you are happy with that approach, Minister, amend the Democrats amendment, change the 12 months to two years, and we will vote for it.
