Senator ABETZ (Minister for Fisheries, Forestry and Conservation) (1:06 PM) —In answer to Senator Joyce’s question, the term ‘financially viable’ will depend on the business model of the new entity, what it does in-house, what it contracts out and where the financial risk sits. It will mean the company has the resources to meet its operational needs and to pay growers for their wheat. The minister will need to be satisfied that the company has the financial resources to meet its obligations to growers and to maximise their—that is, the growers—returns.
