Senator ABETZ (Minister for Fisheries, Forestry and Conservation) (8:48 PM) —Briefly, we believe that the amendment is unnecessary. There are two people or organisations that could breach that which Senator Murray refers to. The first would be the CEO of Comcare, and that person is bound by the Privacy Act 1988. In relation to the other organisation, that would be the employees’ representative organisation. Not to divulge information that organisation has obtained is implicit in the relationship that the employee would have with his or her representative organisation. Therefore, with respect, we do not believe this amendment is necessary.

Question negatived.
