Senator VANSTONE (Minister for Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Indigenous Affairs) (1:39 PM) —If you are talking about residence determinations, these are people who we are looking at having the capacity to remove. Otherwise, if we do not have the capacity to remove them, you would expect they would be on a removal pending bridging visa which would give them Medicare access. These people are not Australian citizens, not permanent residents. They are unlawfully in Australia and therefore do not have access to Medicare, so we will have to provide the health arrangements.
