Senator NETTLE (8:19 PM) —I turn now to another issue. During the election campaign the coalition announced a 12.5 per cent cut to the price of pharmaceuticals once a generic brand came onto the market. At the time I recall that there were some speculation about the United States's comments that they perceived this to be a breach of the obligations that Australia had under the US free trade agreement. Can the minister outline the Australian government's view as to whether this affects Australia's obligations under the free trade agreement?
