Senator ELLISON (Minister for Justice and Customs) (4:48 PM) —I think Senator Brown there is taking the Minister for Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs out of context. The context for what the minister for immigration was saying there, as I recall it—and I would have to check carefully what the minister for immigration said—was that people were fasting to protest against an adverse decision and in an effort to try and get the government to reconsider its decision. The minister's comments were not in the context of this legislation or in the context of where we have intimidation of the public or people as mentioned here in the bill. It was an entirely different context.
