Senator ELLISON (Minister for Justice and Customs) (10:24 PM) —I never for one moment understood Senator Harradine to be making any racial point about any aspect of this. I will take that question on notice. I might just point out that the Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs today in the other place stated that the vast majority of refugees in Australia over recent years have come from places like Africa, Asia and the Balkans—not, as Senator Schacht would imply, from western Europe or in fact the United Kingdom.
