Senator GREIG (9:36 AM) —As Senator Forshaw rightly pointed out, the Democrats are of the same thinking as the opposition on these particular amendments, and we had in fact proposed to move the same amendments. So, clearly, we support those now before us. In doing so, we believe that the requirements for the public notification of routine and urgent applications in the current bill are inadequate. We do not believe it is acceptable that the relatively passive medium of the Internet be relied upon. We are clearly inclined to support that Food Standards ANZ be required to provide notification in newspapers and we therefore will support these particular amendments.
