Senator BARTLETT (1.32 p.m.)
—Having listened to the arguments put forward, I think on balance, particularly with the Christmas period intervening, and the concerns that have been expressed earlier in this debate by the minister that were generated by the AEC about the potential problems with some of the mechanisms that we have nonetheless agreed to put through, I will err on the side of giving a little bit more time and stick with the three months that is in the bill. So I will not be supporting these amendments.
Amendments not agreed to.
