Senator Allison to move, on the next day of sitting:
That the Senate—
(a) notes that the Olympic rings are being removed from the Sydney Harbour Bridge even before the commencement of the Paralympic Games in that city;
(b) condemns the failure of the New South Wales Government to extend to the Paralympians the recognition of their striving and achievements with parity to that of the Olympic Games;
(c) calls on the New South Wales Government to immediately restore the Olympic rings to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and not remove them until the completion of the Paralympic Games on 29 November 2000.
