Senator FAULKNER (Leader of the Opposition in the Senate) (9:43 AM) —I am not sure of what opinion we are.


The CHAIRMAN —I can see that.


Senator FAULKNER —I have given serious thought to this issue, as have many other senators in the chamber. I have been particularly interested in the work that has been undertaken by Senator Cook on this very important matter, and I would commend to the chamber the comments he made earlier in debate on this particular issue.


Senator Ian Campbell —Yes, what were they?


Senator FAULKNER —Given that because of an important meeting he is unable to be in the chamber at this stage to reiterate those views, I believe it is appropriate in these circumstances to commend the approach of the opposition to the chamber—


Senator Bolkus —As always.


Senator FAULKNER —As always, and I look forward to the passage of the legislation.
