Senator ELLISON (Special Minister of State) (4:54 PM) —Just to recap, I did outline in reply in the second reading debate that the government was seeking this short adjournment to consider some proposed amendments which are being put forward by the opposition in particular. You may recall that Senator Faulkner outlined four proposed amendments, which are in the process of being drafted. The government needs time to consider them. There are some other amendments too. Senator Brown and the Democrats, which I mentioned earlier, have some amendments and the government is going through those and talking to the parties concerned. If Senator Harradine has any queries, my office would be only too pleased to assist him in relation to developments.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
