To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in the Parliament assembled.

The Petition of the undersigned draws to the attention of the Senate their concern regarding the potential economic and social damage arising from the development of Internet and Interactive home gambling.

Your petitioners therefore ask the Senate to initiate legislation to ban Internet/Interactive home gambling by amending relevant legislation including the Telecommunications Act 1997, the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 and the Banking Act 1959 to make it illegal for;

Interactive and Internet content providers to make available any gambling products, including games of skill, using telecommunications

Service providers to transmit such gambling products by telecommunications

Consumers to engage in gambling through these services and

Financial institutions to facilitate payment for this form of gambling.

And your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
