Senator COONEY (1:11 PM)
—The opposition supports this Customs Legislation Amendment Bill (No. 2) 1999 . It deals with machinery matters, all of which are very important but not the sorts of things that you storm the barricades about. I notice, for example, that in schedule 3 the word `agent' is going to be deleted and the word `broker' put in. That is of great importance. In addition, in schedule 1 they are going to introduce a legislative option for an electronic lodgment and payments system for refunds of customs duty. That indicates how things will go. While it is an interesting bill, it is not the sort of one that you would make inspired speeches about, so I will not.
