Senator HOGG (3:45 PM) —I seek leave to make some comment in respect of the statement made by the parliamentary secretary.

Leave granted.

Senator HOGG —In spite of what the parliamentary secretary has just said, there is no intention on the part of the inquiry by this committee to in any way jeopardise or put at risk the transactions that will be taking place. My preliminary view of the time for this inquiry will see the actual sale probably concluded by the time the inquiry is fully under way. So whilst the parliamentary secretary has raised some concern, I do not believe that those concerns are well founded. The issues are clearly out there in the public arena at this stage. We commend the motion to the Senate.

Question resolved in the affirmative.
