Senator ELLISON (Special Minister of State) (5:55 PM) —For the record, the government opposes this amendment. The comments I made previously still stand. The term `war' is used in a generic sense as it is used in common parlance. The member for Cowan has been referred to, but the former Deputy Prime Minister, Tim Fischer, was a veteran as well. He has said that he is quite happy with the term `war'. It is obvious we are not going to please everybody all the time, and the Prime Minister has already said that, but we believe that this is an appropriate term.

Amendment not agreed to.
