Senator STOTT DESPOJA (7:15 PM) —The Australian Democrats will not be supporting the amendment. However, I wish to put on record an acknowledgment of the joint select committee's good work, not only in its advisory report but also in its recommendation that is before us. I signed off on that recommendation. I certainly felt that the wording was acceptable and worthy, but the amendment before us does not have the total support of my Democrat colleagues. We believe that the following amendment will provide an equally simple and accurate, but we think also a new and improved, version in this debate.
