Senator FAULKNER (6:25 PM) —I seek leave to make a brief statement on the interests of certain senators in relation to this legislation.

Leave granted.

Senator FAULKNER —I thank the Senate. To expedite debate on the Private Health Insurance Incentives Bill 1998 , I wish to inform the chamber, at the request of my colleagues and before the second reading of the bill, that the following Labor senators hold private health insurance: Senators O'Brien, West, Bishop, Hogg, Ray, Forshaw, Conroy, McKiernan, Schacht, Bolkus, Collins, Crowley, Gibbs, Cooney, George Campbell, Lundy, Mackay, Crossin, Reynolds and me. I invite the Senate to accept this as a suitable form of declaration of interest for the purpose of its consideration of the private health insurance bills.
