Senator COONEY (12:35 PM)
—What qualifications will the person need who may help the pharmaceutical company to extend this patent? Will he or she have to be fully qualified or would there be somebody in the firm who is not qualified but nevertheless works with the patent attorney who will be able to do it?
Senator Parer
—I think I mentioned in my second reading speech that with regard to trademarks—and you are not referring to that; you are talking about patent attorney—
Senator COONEY
—Perhaps I ought to clear this up. The new scheme is that patents, trademarks, designs, copyrights and what have you will be dealt with by a particular class of people. Can you follow that? I am asking you: if there is an extension of whatever the property mark is, who will be able to do it?
