Senator MURRAY (6:15 PM) —We were in the situation where Democrats amendments 6 and 10, on sheet 951 revised, were deferred. My understanding is that the nature of the Labor Party's amendments are different in material respects to our own. Therefore my suggestion to the parliamentary secretary is that we move straight away to a vote on amendments 6 and 10. We can later consider the Labor Party amendments, which I think are a better position than the government's present bill, if my amendments go down. Parliamentary Secretary, perhaps you could react to that proposition.
