The ACTING DEPUTY PRESIDENT (Senator Patterson) —The President has received a letter from Senator Woodley proposing that a definite matter of public importance be submitted to the Senate for discussion, namely:

The failure of the government to do anything effective about the crisis in the Australian citrus industry resulting in the loss of more than 440 million fresh Australian oranges a year.

I call upon those senators who approve of the proposed discussion to rise in their places.
