Senator MARGETTS(12.01 p.m.) —I was just checking the minister's maths. At $600,000 per claim that means—

Senator Minchin —I said $60,000.

Senator MARGETTS —Sorry, $60,000 per claim means basically that the entire money from the $40 million is going into the 670 claims, I would have thought. There is nothing left for administration or anything else.

Senator Bolkus —He doesn't reckon they do anything else.

Senator MARGETTS —That is right. With all the other functions you have required them to do and expect them to do, there is nothing left. I just did the maths on the back of an envelope; I need to do more. What I was talking about was the actual assistance per person to establish their claims, their rights, and in Australia at the moment it is not looking too special.
