To the Honourable President and Members of the Senate in Parliament assembled:

The Petition of the undersigned shows our concern that Australia should fully participate in a comprehensive global ban on anti-personnel landmines.

Your Petitioners ask that the Parliament should act to have Australia:

sign the treaty in Ottawa to ban the use, production, stockpiling and transfer of anti-personnel landmines and to seek to persuade other nations which have not signed to sign;

increase its current spending on the elimination of landmines laid in foreign countries.
