Senator HARRADINE(7.34 p.m.) —I am just wondering whether this amendment is needed and I ask Senator Faulkner to explain that a bit more to the committee. The government directions that have been tabled today had this definition within it, so I just wonder whether there is a need for the amendment.

I thought the intention of all parties was to streamline the bill and to have a less unwieldy piece of legislation. I am just wondering whether there is a need to clutter up the legislation with things that will be dealt with in other material that is before us. As I indicated, this clearly is being dealt with by the government directions that we have been given.
