Senator ALLISON —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate—

(a)   notes that the Victorian State Government has been conducting tests for soil toxicity since 1995 at 116 primary and special schools in the regional centres of Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong and the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne; and

(b)   urges the Victorian State Government to release the detailed results of those tests and to take whatever steps are necessary to safeguard the health of students at schools found to be built on contaminated soil.
