Senator ELLISON (Minister for Customs and Consumer Affairs and Minister Assisting the Attorney-General)(4.42 p.m.) —For the record, the government opposes these amendments. It simply disagrees with the exemptions put forward in these amendments. The government is of the view that there could be duplication in some instances where there are existing requirements in relation to taxation measures for regulatory impact statements and the like. It therefore thinks the amendment goes too far.
