Senator MARGETTS(4.40 p.m.) —It is a bit difficult for it to be two things at once: the amendment is either what is in the other legislation, or it is differ ent and it is going to be inconsistent. So there might be some elements of the exemption in the existing legislation, but obviously what is proposed in these amendments, you have admitted, is different from what is currently in the legislation. The Greens (WA) support that difference and we support that extension to make it fairer, not an ongoing give away to people with greater wealth. The last time I said that was when you jumped up and said, `It is exactly the same as in the current bill.' It cannot be both at once. It cannot be an extension which will be a problem for consistency and exactly the same as what is in the current bill. So we will support it because it is an attempt to extend and to make it fairer than what is currently in the bill.
