Insert:

OECD Shipbuilding Agreement means the "Agreement Respecting Normal Competitive Conditions in the Commercial Shipbuilding and Repair Industry".

(11)   Schedule 1, item 10, page 5 (line 17), omit "31 December 1997,", substitute "the day on which the OECD Shipbuilding Agreement commences".

(12)   Schedule 1, page 5 (after line 17), after item 10, insert:

10B   At the end of section 8

Add:

(6)   Consistent with the OECD Shipbuilding Agreement, bounty is payable for vessels, delivered within 3 years of the commencement of that agreement, for which contracts were entered into prior to the commencement of the agreement.

(13)   Schedule 1, item 11, page 5 (line 19), omit "1 January 1998", substitute "the day after the day on which the OECD Shipbuilding Agreement commences".

(14)   Schedule 1, item 12, page 5 (line 21), omit "31 December 1997", substitute "the day on which the OECD Shipbuilding Agreement commences".

I have spoken to these amendments already. I do not need to repeat what I have said to the chamber. These would provide, I believe, the adequate and extra protection, but I have put those remarks in Hansard and I commend the amendments to the chamber.
