Senator WOODLEY —by leave—I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

That the Senate—

(a)   notes that:

   (i)   5 June 1997 is World Environment Day, and

   (ii)   the Friends of Hinchinbrook appeal against the Government's approval of the Port Hinchinbrook resort, near Cardwell, Queensland, is being heard in the Federal Court in the week beginning 25 May 1997; and

(b)   calls on the Minister for the Environment (Senator Hill) to reconsider his decision to approve this massive resort which will permanently scar the far north Queensland coast and threaten the adjacent World Heritage area.
