- QUESTIONS ON NOTICE

Senator KEMP (Assistant Treasurer)(6.34 p.m.)
—Yes, the regulation periods will require the disclosure of the notice period and there will be some which will actually specify less than 12 months. That will be one of the competitive aspects that some institutions will offer. So, if you are offering a short-term product—you may well say a three months product—the notice period will be very substantially less. We are putting a cap of not more than 12 months. But, if you go into an RSA, you will find that, in the 14-day period, the disclosure will require the RSA to set out the notice period. I think we would expect that the notice period may well be substantially less than the 12-month period. In fact, it is one of the competitive aspects which we think we will bring into the marketplace.
