Senator MURRAY(5.11 p.m.) —If I can be personal for a moment, I judge your character to be one such that you would be concerned personally to ensure that the access to courts is as easy as possible for the people who need to use them. All I am saying is that in view of the fact that there is an economic relationship—that is the terminology of the Attorney-General (Mr Williams) in approaching this bill—between the cost of the court and the numbers using it, if the figure for the numbers using the court divided into that cost falls, it would seem to be cost efficient from your point of view, in your role as parliamentary secretary, to encourage the government to look at that issue again. That is all I am requesting.
