Senator VANSTONE (Minister for Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs)(1.16 p.m.)
—Senator Stott Despoja, perhaps you would care to respond to this. The advice that I have is that, as a consequence of the failure of your first amendment, you would not want to proceed with this second amendment. What this amendment seeks to do, if the bill went ahead as we want it to—your amendment having been lost—is ensure that people who have taken two units in the December study period and then choose to take one in the March study period would also be able to defer that one unit. If you take this item out, they will not be able to do that. That is as I am advised.
