Senator CAMPBELL (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for the Environment and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Sport, Territories and Local Government)(4.41 p.m.) —Senator Evans, the bill makes specific mention of having special mind to the needs of disadvantaged people. We are sending a message from the parliament to the Office of the Employment Advocate to ensure that those groups that need assistance get it. That assistance may be very different from city to city, suburb to suburb. It may be different for different disadvantaged groups.

Again, that is not something that needs to be prescribed in the legislation. The Office of the Employment Advocate will have the discretion to ensure that assistance for disadvantaged groups and individuals is delivered in a way that is most helpful to those groups and individuals.
