Senator HERRON (Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs)(10.34 a.m.) —There has been no change. The government signalled its intention when the bill was originally introduced on 25 June. There has been no information distributed because the election date was announced prior to that. No information has been distributed. It is consequent to the passage of this bill. So anybody nominating would be aware of what the parameters were. The cost of the election, as I understand it, will be in the vicinity of $900,000 and that includes research that has gone into it. It is conducted by the Australian Electoral Commission and the cost is borne by ATSIC.
