Motion (by Senator Kemp) agreed to:
That the following bills be introduced:
A bill for an act to amend the Health Legislation (Powers of Investigation) Amendment Act 1994 and the Human Services and Health Legislation Amendment Act (No. 3) 1995.
A Bill for an Act to amend the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989, and for related purposes.
Question resolved in the affirmative.
Bills read a first time.
Senator Neal
—I rise to a point of order. It was said before that those bills were available to interested members. In fact, they are not available in the Table Office. I made a direct request to the minister's office to supply both copies of those bills, neither of which have yet arrived in my office. I would appreciate being supplied with those.
Senator Kemp
—The bills are available once the bills are introduced in the Senate. That is the normal procedure, which I understand was followed under the previous government.
Senator Faulkner
—I rise on a point of order, Madam Deputy President. We are very happy to hear Senator Kemp's explanation, but I do think he should seek leave to make it.
