Senator MICHAEL BAUME —I give notice that, on the next day of sitting, I shall move:

  That the Senate—

  (a)notes:

    (i)the response on 21 June 1995 by Queensland Deputy Premier (Mr Burns), to a journalist's question whether the Prime Minister (Mr Keating) would be a welcome participant in the July 1995 State election, that `we'd be better off campaigning on our own', and

    (ii)that Mr Burn's view of Mr Keating's negative electoral appeal was shared by New South Wales Labor leader (Mr Carr) who invited him to keep out of that State during its recent election; and

  (b)urges Mr Keating to ignore Mr Burns' request to stay out of Queensland so as not to deprive the Liberal-National coalition of a great campaigning weapon.
