To the Honourable Senator Robert Ray, Minister for Defence and members of the Senate of the Commonwealth of Australia

The Humble petition of the members of the GROUP known as R.A.I.D. (Retain Aviation In Darwin) in the City of Darwin and Palmerston and other locations shown, respectfully showeth that the major volume of people in these locations do fully and faithfully request and support the Continued occupation of the RAAF Base Darwin by Australian and Friendly armed forces such as the United States of America and Singapore, for military exercises and R&R, which benefit them and us for strategic and economic purposes.

Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that the Minister for Defence and Members of the Senate of the Commonwealth of Australia would give total support for the continued operation of the RAAF Base Darwin by these armed air and ground forces and their exercises operating out of Darwin, so that the people of Darwin may receive their economic and protective/defensive services. We in asking know that noise problems exist, but we understand.
