Senator COULTER (9.40 p.m.) —It is protected; it is covered by plant breeders' rights. The information which is contained in that—admittedly, an intermediate species, not in its final form in terms of consumption certainly but it might be very valuable as a source of genes, scientific experiment or whatever—is protected. Why is this section here? This is an extremely dangerous section. Given the explanation which the minister has provided, we will divide on this. As I suspected, this is an extremely dangerous section which should not be in this legislation.
