Senator KERNOT (Leader of the Australian Democrats) (4.52 p.m.) —Are there a lot of jobs around for women who are aged 50 and over? The government has introduced the mature age allowance for men between the ages of 60 and 65 in an acknowledgment that there is very little work around for them. What makes the minister so certain that there is a lot of work around for women between the ages of 50 and 65?
