Senator Bell asked the Minister for the Environment, Sport and Territories, upon notice, on 27 April 1994:

  (1) Has any land care grant been paid, or is any due to be paid, to the Kelcey Tier Land Care Group Inc. in Tasmania for remnant bushland management; if so, how much.

  (2) Is it a fact that (a) this body has been unconstitutional for sometime and has insufficient members to act as an incorporated body; and (b) the status of the group is currently being investigated by the Tasmanian State Ombudsman; if so, how will this affect the arrangements for receiving any grant from the Commonwealth Government.


Senator Faulkner —The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:

  (1) No.

  (2) (a) Not known.

  (b) The Office of the Tasmanian State Ombudsman advises that it is not investigating the management of the Kelcey Tier Landcare Group Inc.
