Senator KERNOT (Leader of the Australian Democrats) (11.11 a.m.) —I understand what the parliamentary secretary is saying about the agreement that has been entered into, but I think the question is: are we redefining the deal? That is what we are asking. Does denying the tax deductions for the unfunded superannuation liabilities for the new owner actually represent a redefinition of what was negotiated? That is what we are asking. Does the parliamentary secretary agree that the previous deal counted future deductions as future deductions and not current tax losses? Is this part of the redefinition? That is what we are a bit worried about. The parliamentary secretary says that it is improper; we are asking: is he doing it himself?
