(Question No. 1005)

Senator Campbell asked the Minister representing the Minister for Administrative Services, upon notice, on 1 February 1994:

  What are the details of the following in regard to Projects, Interiors and Asset Services respective leases for office space at the Casselden Place building in Melbourne:

  (a) the date of the commencement of the respective leases;

  (b) how much space is occupied by each agency;

  (c) the effective net rental rates for each lease;

  (d) the outgoings payable per square metre in the building by the agencies; and

  (e) the value of any leasing incentives paid to the tenants as part of the lease deal.

Senator McMullan —The Minister for Administrative Services has provided the following answer to the honourable senator's question:

  (a) 1 December 1992 is the date on which both the tenancy term and the rental commenced for these three agencies. It should be noted that there cannot be legally executed leases between one Commonwealth agency and another. However, there will be signed tenancy agreements put in place with all tenants of Australian Estate Management buildings, including Casselden Place, and this process is underway.
