Senator WATSON (5.53 p.m.) —I do not think it would be difficult for the government to give an assurance that capital gains consequences would flow from the amendment currently proposed by Senator Coulter. I think the issue needs further evaluation. I would hate to feel that people, because of their generosity, could be saddled with a tax burden that they had never comprehended.
