Senator STONE (Leader of the National Party of Australia)
—Mr President, on behalf of National Party of Australia senators, I have very great pleasure in congratulating you on your re-election as President of the Senate. I have, of course, known you for a very slight time indeed. However, everything that I am told and what I have so far seen assures me that in terms of fairness you will indeed be a President of the Senate in whom we will all have the most utmost confidence.
