Senator GIETZELT (Minister for Veterans' Affairs)(11.48) —I cannot give the honourable senator any assurance. Governments are elected to govern and should circumstances eventuate or develop, options, of course, are available. These matters will be kept under review. Other options are available to government should the inquiry reach certain conclusions. Clearly, these would be matters that would have to be brought back to the Parliament for its consideration. I am giving no assurances; I am not making any threat. I am merely indicating that options are always available to government. What happens will depend on what the inquiry finally decides and recommends to government.
