Senator PETER BAUME(10.04) —A few moments ago I raised the concern about the wording of paragraph (d). The Clerks have been very helpful in talking to me since then. The standing order as it is presently written, and the sessional order as it is presently written, contain an extra word-the word `continuously'-which has been left out of the proposed standing order. The existing standing order reads:

. . . the Senator so interrupted may continue his speech for a further quarter of an hour but no longer continuously on any one Question.

The sessional order says the same thing. I suggest that if the word `continuously' were added the objection I have raised would fall. I seek leave of the Committee to add that word as it will help me in considering paragraph (d).

Leave granted.

Senator PETER BAUME —In relation to proposed new paragraph (d) I move:

After `longer' insert `continuously'.
