Senator CHANEY (Leader of the Opposition)(10.37) —I will not delay the Senate unduly. I thank the Minister for Community Services (Senator Grimes) for his answer. I ask the Minister whether he can assist me by way of an explanation on the 50 per cent content point. I ask the Minister to give me an explanation also of how the 50 per cent content rule works, how it is assessed on a lawn-mower, how the engine is treated and so on. It would be of help. I do not request that information now. I think that sort of detail is probably a waste of the Senate's time. I think the Australian manufacturer is entitled to be concerned and to be assured that the protection which has been given by this Parliament is in fact achieved whatever view one has on the correctness or otherwise of the particular tariff item. I would, therefore, appreciate advice on that second point.

Bill agreed to.
