To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled.

The petition of the undersigned citizens of Canberra respectfully showeth:

Our strongest disapproval of the Government's shortsighted decision to terminate the Community Recreation Courses in the A.C.T.

We believe this decision to be contrary to the best interests of both the local community, for which the Federal Government is directly responsible. It is our view that, as well as providing an avenue for the personal development of residents of the A.C.T., these courses maximise the use of valuable public assets, and act as a positive deterrent to vandalism.

Your petitioners therefore pray that you will reverse your decision for funding of these courses.
