To the Honourable the President and members of the Senate in Parliament assembled. The petition of the undersigned citizens of Australia respectfully showeth that we support the proposed Australian Bill of Rights Bill 1985, which will

protect individuals against violation of their rights by the impact of laws or by the actions of the government institutions;

be effective in implementing Australia's international obligations to properly secure fundamental rights and freedoms; and

provide an educative charter.

Your petitioners pray that the Senate, in Parliament assembled, should support the passage of this Bill at an early date.

And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
