Senator PETER BAUME(10.21) —I am attracted to the matter Senator Messner has raised. I ask the Minister for Community Services (Senator Grimes): Is it not a fact that immediately after the election of his Government approvals for invalid pensions in my State of New South Wales quadrupled? From that next month onwards, approvals went up by almost a factor of four-nearly overnight. Is it not a fact that some of the doctors who had been making the assessments believed that some of those approvals did not meet the 85 per cent invalidity criterion laid down by the law?
